Puketapu School

Puketapu School is in a semi rural location – 6km (7mins drive) from Taradale, an established suburb of Napier city. It is a full primary school for boys and girls aged between 5- 13 years old (Years 1-8).

Children can see sheep and cows out of the classroom windows and can enjoy the space to play, breathe in the country air and view the stars in the night sky. The school has an excellent reputation built on the academic success of its students and on the attitude of its learners. Students are offered opportunities that will challenge, stimulate and enable them to achieve in an environment that fosters respect and support.  Everyone who becomes involved in Puketapu School will feel part of our community with the school at its heart.

Our school has a history and reputation for academic and sporting excellence. It is proud of the culture that fosters creative, independent, confident, active students.

The students at Puketapu School always come first. You can expect your child to be well taught and well looked after. After their time at our school, students will be equipped with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for personal success. We strive to ensure the students enter the next stage of their lives with a positive self image and that they look back on their time at Puketapu School as an important and exciting time of their lives.

Our students have gone on to be Head Girl and Head Boy of Napier High Schools and Taradale High School and perform very well in high school.
